CAPM Certification Process

The Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) is a beginner-level certification that shows someone has a good grasp of basic project management concepts, terms, and methods. It’s provided by the Project Management Institute (PMI), an international organisation focused on project management.

The Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification process involves: 

Step 1: Check your eligibility: Before you apply, make sure you meet the CAPM certification eligibility requirements.  

Step 2: Choose a training program:  Consider the training provider's reputation, course content, and study materials. You can also check the program's accreditation, reviews from previous students, and the success rate of graduates. 

Step 3: Take Project Management Education: Before the exam, you must complete at least 23 hours of CAPM Certification Training. You can also meet this requirement with authorised training providers such as Simpliaxis. 

Step 4: Studying the PMBOK Guide: This CAPM exam tests your knowledge of the PMBOK Guide and the project management process. 

Step 5: Practicing questions: Practice tests can help you improve your understanding of specific topics. 

Step 6: Apply for the exam: Create a PMI account, fill out an application, and provide any required documentation. PMI will review your application and email you instructions on how to pay the exam fee. 

Step 7: Taking the CAPM exam: This CAPM certification exam contains 150 questions that must be completed within 180 minutes. It tests your knowledge of project management fundamentals and core concepts and the practical implementation of predictive, agile, and hybrid approaches. 

Step 8: Get Your Certification: After passing the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) exam, you should automatically receive your certification in the mail within a few weeks. 

Step 9: Maintain your certification: Every three years, you need to earn 15 project development units (PDU) to keep your CAPM certification.
