Go to the Project Management Institute (PMI) website to apply for the online PMP exam. The best course would be to begin the PMP application process with the prerequisites met. You must prove that you are eligible to take the test and that all the relevant areas of your knowledge have been addressed.

You mustn't allow any discrepancy to prevent your achievement of the PMP® Certification. The PMP application procedure becomes easier if you have prepared all the necessary paperwork and data accessible.

PMP Application - Explained

Once your online application is complete, the PMP application procedure starts. Ninety days are allotted to complete the PMP application procedure. It may take up to five days for your form to be reviewed for completeness after you submit it. You will then be able to determine if you are eligible to proceed with the assessment and pay the PMP exam cost.

PMP Application Process

You must complete the application, verify your eligibility, and obtain personal information. You must follow these three procedures to ensure your PMP application goes without a hitch.

  1. Verify If You are Eligible

PMP also requires you to meet specific requirements like any other certification. Either of the following criteria must be met.

  • Four years of education and thirty-six months of project management experience
  • Project management experience totalling 60 months, supplemented by a secondary education diploma

You also require 35 hours of project management training and the requirements above. Webinars, approved training partners, and on-demand classes can all fit the PMP application description.

  1. Compile your information

The next step is compiling your information to ensure a smooth application process. In addition to your personal information and educational background, you also require the following.

  • It would be best to list the projects you have overseen. This data comprises the project's location, the part you performed, and the duties you undertook. You also need to specify how long the project will take.
  • In addition, you must give details about your project management training, such as the name of your training provider, the courses you have finished, and the number of hours you have put in.
  1. Complete and Send in Your Application.

Filling out the form and sending it in completes the last step of the application process. To do it, though, you must have a PMI account. By filling out, you may create an account on PMI and avail PMI membership benefits.

  • Details about you, including name and email
  • Your date of birth, prior project management experience, and educational institutions are further details.
  • Details about your account, which include a security question and password.
  1. What Happens After That?

You can sign in, access the platform, and finish the form upon setting up an account. You can take pauses even though the application form is somewhat long. But make sure you enter the right data.

Also, check  PMP Exam Eligibility.

Once PMI has reviewed your application, it will notify you if you are chosen. However, they can randomly choose you for an eligibility audit before deciding. If such is the case, you must provide the required paperwork for validation, such as copies of your training, experience, and degree certification certificates.

After being accepted, candidates can pay the application fee and schedule an exam. Visit the PMI website to find out the precise fees; members of the PMI pay less than non-members. There are only three opportunities to retake the exam each year, which could be difficult.

FAQs

  1. What is the proper format for a PMP application description?

Project descriptions for PMP applications must include the following: the goal of the project, its expected result, your position in the project, your duties, and a brief synopsis of the deliverables generated. These must be stated in PMI terminology to increase the chances of your application being approved.

  1. What is the number of projects included in the PMP application?

Having up to three projects on your application is best. Taking on multiple projects increases the danger that the reviewer won't accept one of your experiences. Additionally, rather than being allowed as "projects," short projects are more likely to be regarded as an ongoing component of the business's operations.

  1. How is my PMP application accepted?

You will receive an email from PMI confirming the review and acceptance of your application. The PMP® certification exam is another item that you will need to pay for. The exam cost for the PMP® certification exam is $555; however, if you become a PMI member, this amount can be reduced to $405.

  1. What happens after PMP expires?

You will appear more credible when you apply for new jobs, even when your certifications are expired. You should also review some of the key concepts and methods you were taught throughout your PMP exam preparation. You will also need to retake and pass the exam to renew your certificate after it expires.
