Step 1: Meeting the eligibility criteria
You don’t need any previous work experience to join this course. Anybody interested can join the certification program. However, as part of the SAFe POPM certification process, you need to appear for an exam. For this, it is recommended that you have experience in a SAFe environment and understand the fundamental Agile training.
Step 2: SAFe POPM certification training
To appear in the SAFe POPM certification exam, you need to first enroll in a two-day training program. The program is instructed by a SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) with an authorized training partner of Scaled Agile, Inc. The course fee includes the first-time exam fee and a one-year membership to the SAFe Community Platform.
Once you get enrolled in the training program, you will get all the course materials and access to SAFe Collaborate, which is a visual online workspace. You can access the content, resources, and tools needed to practice SAFe every day before the exam. For those who cannot attend the training program in person, there is a remote learning facility via SAFe Virtual Classrooms.
Step 3: Course outline
By taking part in the SAFe POPM certification program, the attendees learn about:
Promoting the role of Product Owner and Product Manager
Focusing on customer needs when designing, building, and testing the product development process.
Preparing for and leading PI planning.
Decomposing Epics to Features and Features to Stories.
Collaborating with Agile teams to forecast work.
Step 4: Certification information
You will need to answer 45 multiple-choice questions in 90 minutes.
33 out of 45 questions must be correct to pass the exam.
Web-based exam
The first exam is included in the course fee if taken within 30 days of completing the course.
You can retake the exam by paying an additional fee of USD 50 if you fail to clear it.
The second attempt can be taken right after the first one.
A 10-day wait period is required for the third attempt.
A 30-day wait period is required for the fourth attempt.
The SAFe Product Owner Product Manager certification process ensures that you reach your goal comfortably. Once you know how to get SAFe Product Owner Product Manager certification, you should work hard for it so that you pass the exam.
After passing the exam, you will get the SAFe POPM Certification which will be valid only for a year. You need to renew your certification every year. However, you don’t need to sit for any further exams.
