Juan Banda is a Certified Scrum Trainer® (CST) who has more than 22+ years of expertise working in both the Agile and Scrum areas. Famous for his energetic approach to training and innovative ideas, Juan has been an integral member of the Scrum community since 2007. His experience in Agile has included roles as Scrum Master, Designer, and Product Owner, which allows him to offer practical knowledge and applications during his lectures.
The first Spanish-speaking instructor to offer courses like A-CSM®, CSP-SM, A-CSPO® and CSP-PO, & LeSS Basics Certified by the LeSS, Juan has pioneered Agile education across Latin America. So far, he's taught over 5,000 students in 10 countries across the Americas in both classrooms and online. Juan has been a part of globally well-known organizations like Cisco, Deloitte, Walmart, Unilever, Citi, and BlueCross BlueShield, helping them to implement Agile techniques and lead long-term transformative changes.
Juan is a graduate of the field of Management Information Systems from The University of Illinois at Chicago. His career in academia includes stints as a full-time instructor and head of the Engineering Department, where he was the leader of teams comprising more than fifty developers. Since 2020, he's been able to deliver over 100 online classes and has been adapting to the changing technology of digital learning.
In addition to his training, Juan is a passionate local leader who is passionate about advancing Scrum within his country, Bolivia. He has orchestrated a variety of high-profile occasions, such as Scrum Bolivia Day and the Regional Scrum Gathering Bolivia. His influence is felt throughout his involvement with the Agile Alliance, in which his position was on the board of Directors. He is currently serving as a Latam Community Developer.
Juan is also a famous public speaker who has presented at major conferences, including Scrum Day Peru, Scrum Gathering New Orleans, and Agile 2013. Nashville. His passion for promoting Agile methods and principles inspires professionals around the world.
